Das Departement deutschsprachige Erziehungswissenschaften der Universität Freiburg bietet ein Doktoratsstudium im Fach Erziehungswissenschaften an. Zu den Vorzügen eines solchen Studiums in Freiburg zählen ein kleines Departement mit einer intensiven Betreuung und ein auf individuelle Bedürfnisse zugeschnittenes Studium, der Austausch mit Doktorierenden und Lehrenden der Universitäten Basel, Bern und Zürich in gemeinsamen Kolloquien sowie viele Möglichkeiten, die Scientific Community der deutschsprachigen und internationalen Erziehungswissenschaft kennen zu lernen.
Eine Dissertation kann sowohl in klassischen Teilgebieten der Erziehungswissenschaft geschrieben werden, unter welche u.a. die Bereiche Allgemeine Erziehungswissenschaft sowie Sozialpädagogik fallen. Darüber hinaus bilden die Schwerpunkte «Globalisierung und Bildung», «Pädagogik der frühen Kindheit und Kindheitsforschung» sowie «International Education Policy» das einzigartige Profil der Freiburger Erziehungswissenschaft.

Deutschschweizer Doktorierenden-Kolloquium
Erziehungswissenschaft Basel – Bern – Freiburg – Zürich
Mit der Unterstützung von Swissuniversities führen die Erziehungswissenschaften der Universitäten Basel, Bern, Freiburg und Zürich jedes Jahr ein zweitägiges Doktorierenden-Kolloquium durch. Zum einen sprechen international renommierte Referentinnen und Referenten über aktuelle Themen und Fragen in der Erziehungswissenschaft, zum anderen haben Doktorierende die Möglichkeit, einem grösseren Publikum von Doktorierenden und Lehrenden Auszüge aus ihrer Dissertation zu präsentieren.

in Educational Sciences
The German-speaking Department of Educational Sciences at the University of Fribourg offers a doctoral programme in Educational Sciences. The advantages of such a study programme in Fribourg include a small department with intensive supervision and a study programme tailored to individual needs, dialogue with doctoral students and teaching staff from the universities of Basel, Bern and Zurich in joint colloquia, as well as many opportunities to get to know the scientific community of German-speaking and international educational sciences.
A thesis can be written in classical sub-areas of educational sciences or in the areas of general educational science or social pedagogy. In addition, the focus areas of "Globalisation and Education," "Early Childhood Education and Care and Childhood Studies," and "International Education Policy" form the basis for the unique profile of Educational Sciences in Fribourg.

Swiss-German Educational Sciences Doctoral Colloquium Basel - Bern - Fribourg - Zurich
With the support of the UNIFR Rectorate, the educational sciences departments of the universities of Basel, Bern, Fribourg and Zurich hold a two-day doctoral colloquium every year. In one part, internationally renowned speakers talk about current topics and issues in educational sciences, and in a complimentary part, doctoral students have the opportunity to present excerpts from their theses to a wider audience of doctoral students and teaching staff.
